WhatsApp Status new privacy update in 2024 is coming soon!

WhatsApp Status new privacy update is coming soon!

  • WhatsApp status enables users to share content with their contacts for 24 hours.
  • Recent beta updates for iOS and Android introduce a simplified popup for adjusting.
  • The update prompts users to review and adjust privacy settings easily.

WhatsApp introduced the Status feature in 2017, allowing users to share text, emojis, photos, and other content with their contacts for 24 hours. The Status Privacy setting let users control who could see their updates: all contacts, specific contacts, or everyone except certain contacts.

Recently, WhatsApp beta for iOS 24.10.10.75 introduced a small popup to streamline the Status Update Privacy setting when posting new updates. Now, the WhatsApp beta for Android (version 2.24.12.27) is also testing this feature, indicating that it should be available for Android phones in the near future.

This update acts as a reminder for users to review their current privacy settings, preventing them from overlooking any necessary changes. If adjustments are needed, users can easily make them without navigating through complex settings. This improvement aims to increase users’ awareness of their audience with each update.

Beta channel users may already see this feature, while others can expect it to roll out gradually to more testers soon. As for the release of the live version, WhatsApp has not provided a specific date yet, but they are likely to announce the rollout once it occurs.
